I just purchased a drum kit

Will wonders never cease? Well, probably, but not on my watch.

Tonight I placed an order for an electronic drum kit! After debating it for about, oh, ten minutes, I plunked down the cash for a low end, China made knock off of something. My expectations are VERY low, but I have a pretty simple list of requirements that I beleive even a mickey mouse drum set of the lowest order will satisfy.

1. It must be quiet. I live in an apartment, so low volume is key.
2. It must have the same general configuration as the kit Fischer has in his garage.
3. It must produce sound that resembles drums.

That's it. The goal here is to give me something to bang around on during the times I'm not at MNI-North. As of today, the ONLY time I have to practice drums is the hour or two we have in the studio prior to recording a song. So while our KPI's for recordings have been conservatively low, I believe there is a need for something better than one of the three drum lines I can hold together for three plus minutes.

I'm hoping that this kit will help out. If not, I'll just drop it off to Bill for long term storage.

But this episode speaks to the fact that the band has come a long way. Well, worth noting that the band does not exist anymore, but my point is that although I now have an attention consuming day job, it comes with the benefit of a bunch of money to kick around when the need arises. I didn't have to drive all over town looking for the cheapest drum set. Nor did I have to con other band members into splitting the costs with me under some elaborate "Shares" scheme. it's just kind of fun to be able to reach out and grab whatever you need, whenever you need it.

With any luck, the kit will be here in a week or so. I will of course post pictures!!!

Oh, come on! We could all own a 25% share (or 50% for Vic), and then make Ben pay for the whole thing after he gets good. Go ahead, name one thing wrong with that plan!
